"I just wanted to thank your family and each and everyone of your volunteers that take time out of the day to make a difference in my daughter''s and many other childrens lives. I remember when Tabbi first came out there and to look back and see how far she has truly come is a blessing to us. Last year when the children made hand-prints on the... bench Tabbi would not tolerate it now to see her today what all she has over come has touched my heart dearly. She willingly placed her hand in the paint. At first she was a little hesitant, but when she had it in the paint a little, the young lady that was helping out pushed her hand in a little more and she did it! From that point on she did not mind it at all She just wanted to paint Buck.Thank you so much for everything you do, your truly a blessing from above. Love you guys."

5 & Under Program Mom
Hello, my name is Maria and I’m the mother of two beautiful girls. My husband and I wanted children so badly. Our first child was a still born and we mourned. Then, after two very long years, we became pregnant with Elizabeth. She came into our family five years ago and we are so blessed. Little did we know, just how blessed. Rachel was born less than 2 years later.
Our Elizabeth is a bright, beautiful and loving child. Right now, she is a 1st grader and enjoys reading, ice skating and swimming. About 2 years ago we received some distressing news; our Elizabeth has a mild case of CP. Doctors told us, Elizabeth should not ever need a wheelchair, but as parents we wanted to do everything possible to help Elizabeth grow into a health young lady. One of her therapist suggested Horseback riding. Both our children don’t like animals. That’s right, soft fluffy rabbits, kittens, puppies or birds. I thought to myself, Horses yea!?!
Elizabeth has gained so much confidence in her abilities, since starting at Grace Rescue. And Rachel is now petting and holding the kittens/cats. Yep, petting and holding kittens! Now, she will still climb on top of the picnic table when the dogs come outside. But the cats and horses are her favorite. Here I’ll let you hear some of their own words.
Elizabeth: I like to ride because it helps me balance and sit up tall. I like to brush and groom Romeo. I like to put his reins on him and pet the side of his neck. When I go over the Cavelettes (sp), I feel like a can touch the sky. When I’m done riding I like to read stories during craft time. Ms. Debbie and Ms. Linnea are very nice to me.
Rachel: I like to ride because Elizabeth does. My favorite thing to do while Elizabeth rides is petting and holding the cats, especially Levi. I want to ride Midnight sometime. He has a very soft nose. I like Ms. Penny’s boots, they are PINK. You know that is my favorite color.
So as parents, we can only say thank you to all those who volunteer & who give of themselves to assist our girls. Those words seem so over used and don’t truly convey the emotions my husband and I feel. Our children are learning to face challenges with grace, patience, kindness, a sense of joy and excitement. We didn’t ever think our Rachel would have such fondness towards a cat. Where Elizabeth feels so empowered while riding Romeo; we can see that strength transfer over while she works on fine motor skills and speech.
Thank you to all of you for making such a large imprint on our children’s life.
-John and Maria
